The Choi Kai Yau Building
On 20 October 2006, the University of Macau (UM) named a campus building the "Choi Kai Yau Building" in recognition of the Choi's family longstanding support for the University's development. The Naming Ceremony was officiated by Dr. Fernando Chui Sai On, Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture in Macau, Professor Yiu Wai Bun, President of the University of Macau, Mr. Choi Kai Yau and Dr. Jonathan Choi. On the occasion of the University's 25th anniversary, Mr. Choi Kai Yau further donated HK$5 million for the development of the University. The Choi Kai Yau College
In 2010, Dr. Jonathan Choi on behalf of the Choi Kai Yau Foundation further donated MOP 30 million to fund a residential college on the new campus of the UM. Dr. Tse Chi Wai, Chair of the Executive Committee of UMDF and Chair of the University Council of UM, received the donation on behalf of UMDF. The residential college is named "The Choi Kai Yau College". UM will implement on the new campus the residential college system adopted by many top universities worldwide. The residential college system, which aims at "cultivating people", and the faculty-based system, which focuses on "imparting knowledge", will perfectly complement each other.
On 1 November 2019, Sunwah Group celebrated from Macao to the World for 62 years at the University of Macau (UM). A series of celebrating events were held including the 5th anniversary of the Choi Kai Yau College of UM".
